Who we are

Welcome to SYHASouth Yorkshire Housing Association is a charitable not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary Board. Our Board of Management, comprising of ten members, including two residents, meets monthly to provide strategic direction, ensure accountability, review policy issues and support and advise the senior management team.

We also have an Audit Committee that meets three times a year to monitor our financial position and performance.

The Senior Management Team comprises of a Chief Executive and four Directors, covering, Human Resources & Central Services; Housing Services; Care & Supported Housing; Finance & IT; and Development Services. We also have our own in-house Architectural team and a Direct Services team that deliver repairs and improvements to all our homes.

We started life in 1972 and now manage nearly 6,000 homes. Our work has been financed by Local Authorities. Central Government (now through the Homes & Communities Agency), Local Health Authorities, Social Services and other funders such as Transform South Yorkshire and private lenders. We are regulated by the Tenant Services Authority.
