St Elizabeth's love the NIB!
The Neighbourhood Improvement Budget has benefitted the community!
Over the last twelve months the tenants of St Elizabeth’s have benefited from grants made available from the Neighbourhood Improvement Budget.
They have had fencing erected, dangerous trees made safe, yellow lines painted to prevent inappropriate parking and a large mural now adorns the family outdoor area.
All of these improvements are requested by the tenants at their weekly estate meetings to keep the estate well maintained and safe. Some of the work is done by contractors, as we can’t send our tenants up trees!!
However, the mural is all our own work. The grant enabled us to employ a community artist who worked with the children throughout the summer to produce a very impressive piece of work. Not only do we have a great work of art to look at through the winter months but we also had a very happy bunch of children (and adults) who enjoyed having something to get involved in during the long holiday, a real win win situation.
