South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA) celebrated past present and future at an event marking the end of a 10 year term on the board of directors for Narendra Bajaria CBE.
Narendra, retired head of Sheffield City Council’s Planning Service and Design Champion at SYHA, has Chaired the SYHA Board of Directors over the past three years. In this time Narendra has used his design expertise to drive quality forward for the organisation; his wealth of experience has been instrumental in SYHA achieving Regional Social Landlord of the Year at this year’s Housing Excellence Awards.
Narendra Bajaria CBE said: ‘I can say without fear of correction that I am leaving SYHA on a high note! Throughout my time as Chair, we have consistently put quality at the top of out leadership and service agendas, and winning the Regional Social Housing Provider at this year’s Housing Excellence Awards, is testament to our hard work paying off. I know that I am handing over an organisation and a Board that is in excellent shape to our incoming Chair; Barbara Walsh.’
In the coming weeks, Barbara Walsh will be taking over the role as ninth Chair of the SYHA Board. Barbara has been on the Board for the past three years, as a former NHS Chief Executive and active in the fields of both school governance and neighbourhood mediation, Barbara is prepared to lead the SYHA Board, continuing to specialise as the association’s Organisational Development Champion.
