After seeing SYHA’s Power Roofs featured on BBC2 Newsnight, the tenants’ association at Melton Borough Council spoke to their Resident Involvement Officer to organise a trip to view our project first hand.

Saxon Bond, SYHA’s LiveGreen Team said: ‘The engagement with our residents throughout this project has been brilliant. Through both the installation of the PV panels and through the education we are providing to enable them to make some simple lifestyle changes, SYHA residents can reduce their energy use, cut their fuel bills and reduce their carbon emissions. I hope that the other Organisations will go on to provide the benefits of solar to their own residents.’
The tenant’s from Melton Mowbray in Lei
cestershire joined members of the LiveGreen team for a presentation about the project, a bus tour of the different areas where we have already installed PV (photo voltaics) and finally - fish and chips from the café at The Meadows, our first extra care housing scheme in Sheffield.
One visitor from Melton commented: ‘I’m very impressed with the work being done and how good your association is in realising tenants’ needs.’
