Another milestone is about to be reached in the development of affordable homes in Barnsley with the completion of phase two of our new build scheme in Worsbrough in March.
The new development is a key project in the Worsbrough Regeneration Programme, which aims to provide high quality affordable homes in this area for local people and to improve the quality of the environment for this neighbourhood.
Working with our partners, Barnsley Council, Berneslai Homes and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), the second phase of this three-stage regeneration development will provide sixteen new family homes comprising 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom homes.
All homes have photovoltaic panels on the roof to capture daylight and generate electricity, which means new residents will benefit from lower electricity bills.
Twelve of the homes will be available for rent, with tenancy nominations from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and the remaining four properties have all been reserved for shared ownership purchase.
For shared ownership enquiries please contact Crucible; our commercial subsidiary or email Crucible.
We are delighted that our construction partner Bramall Construction has been shortlisted for a national Considerate Construction Award for their work on minimising disruption and engaging with the local community on this project.
We are also on site with Phase Three of the development which we hope will complete in November 2011.
