Help to adapt your home to meet your needs
If you or someone living with you has a disability or mobility difficulties, we may be able to carry out small adaptations to your home to help you to live in it independently for as long as possible.
Adaptations you may find useful:
- Grab rails to help you enter or move about your home safely
- A second hand rail to help you to climb the stairs or steps
- Aids for people with visual or hearing impairments - for example fitting a vibrating cushion or flashing bell to alert you when someone rings your doorbell
- Lever taps to help you grip to turn taps on and off
If you need more extensive adaptations we can advise you on how you can apply for it through your Local Authority.
Local Authority adaptations:
- A level access shower
- Over bath shower
- Ramps
- Stair lift
If you would like more information or advice, or to request an adaptation telephone us on 0114 2900 200 or send us an email.
