As your landlord, SYHA has a duty to carry out an annual inspection of pipework and appliances. (any gas appliance owned by the customer is their own responsibility i.e. gas cookers, fires). Our nominated contractors will confirm in writing when they wish to attend your home to carry out this essential work.
If the time/date given is not acceptable then alternative arrangements can be made by contacting either the contractor or SYHA.
Failure to allow access does result in court action being taken, this is not something we do lightly. Recent costs to our customers for failing to allow access for a gas service has been as much as £750.00.
