I would like to transfer to another SYHA home

Every year we will help tenants to move by offering them more suitable properties for their needs.

In order to be approved for consideration for a transfer you must;

• Have a clear rent account i.e. no rent arrears
• Not have a record of anti – social behaviour
• Not have any legal action against your tenancy
• Keep your home & garden in good repair, clean & in good decorative order

Depending on the size and location of your home you want to move into, it may take some time to find a suitable property to offer you.

If you are interested in applying for a transfer you can contact our Customer Service team or your Housing Officer on 0114 2900 200 for a transfer form. We can also provide advice about other options available to you to move home such as mutual exchange.

We would recommend that you are registered with the local council in the area you wish to move to so that you can apply for re-housing with them. A large proportion of our properties are let via nominations from the local authority the majority of which have “Choice Based Letting Schemes” where you can put a bid on a property you are interested in. You can also apply for re-housing with other housing organisations.
