Building Work Beings on SYHA’s Groundbreaking Eco-Homes Development

Building work is in the initial stages on a new groundbreaking Eco-homes development by South Yorkshire Housing Association on Henley Way in Rotherham. The development is due to be completed in summer 2007 and has been made possible by way of grants from the Regional Housing Board, Energy Savings Trust and land gifted by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.

New Development Brings Affordable Housing to Rural North Lincs

Building work is in the initial stages on a new development by South Yorkshire Housing Association in Owston Ferry that will bring much needed affordable homes to the village. The development is due to be completed in February 2007 with nominations for the homes coming from North Lincolnshire Council’s Housing Waiting List.

SYHA sign Kier Sheffield as new repairs partner

South Yorkshire Housing Association has recently signed Kier Sheffield as their new repairs partner for all of their general needs and care and supported housing stock. Kier Sheffield, along with SYHA’s direct service organisation (DSO) will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance for a minimum of 3 years, including plumbing, electrical and gas, of over 5,000 properties covering Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire.

Cabinet Member opens flagship scheme for older people

Councillor Chris Weldon, Cabinet Member for Safer Neighbourhoods officially opened The Meadows, South Yorkshire Housing Associations first extra care scheme in Shirecliffe, Sheffield on Thursday 29th June. Residents, local councillors and professionals from the healthcare & housing sector attended as Councillor Weldon cut a ribbon and released 200 balloons to mark the official opening.
