Our next Housing Services Director
We are delighted to inform you that our next Housing Services Director will be Gareth Parkin. He will start his new role in mid-February, and will work alongside Sharron Dyett until she retires at the end of March. Gareth has worked for South Yorkshire Housing Association since 2005 in a variety of roles. He is currently working in the LiveWell team as an Area Lead, and has led on several key LiveWell projects, including Age Better in Sheffield, Housing First and, most recently, the establishment of the innovative Social Impact Bond.
Tony Stacey said of the appointment: “I rang our Chair, Ian Cole, to give him the good news that Gareth had accepted, and he summed it up for me when he said. “Great appointment!” It’s been a while since we recruited an internal candidate to the Directors Team. I am really looking forward to working with Gareth; he is highly respected as a leader, and I know that he will ensure that our customers continue to receive a great service.”
Gareth said: “I am delighted to be joining our Directors Team. Like all housing associations, South Yorkshire Housing Association has real challenges ahead, including the switch to digital, retrofitting the existing stock and ensuring our customers are safe. Simon, Shelley, Caroline and their teams are all doing a fantastic job, and I look forward to working with them. Sharron’s boots will be big ones to fill. I can’t wait to start!”
