At South Yorkshire Housing Association we’re passionate about sustainability. As an organisation we have a responsibility to our local communities to ensure that we make a positive contribution to the environment.LiveGreen logo

We believe that in order for our customers to settle at home, live well and realise their potential we have to provide services that are sustainable. This could be through building greener, more energy efficient homes, changing the way we work so that we burn less fossil fuels or encouraging our customers and staff to adapt their lifestyles to help protect the environment.

We’ve outlined our vision LiveGreen, our commitment to sustainability below:

“We will embed environmental, social and economic sustainability in all our operations. We will lighten our environmental footprint, help our customers to do the same and support communities by tackling fuel poverty.”

Being green can save you hundreds of pounds

You might have seen in the news recently that energy bills are on the rise and everyone is being advised to switch energy supplier to save money.

LiveGreen - Joyce Costello

Joyce saved £280 with the click of a few buttons

It sounds like a lot of effort to save a few pennies a month doesn’t it? But what if just by sending a text or an email you could save yourself hundreds of pounds a year?

That’s what Joyce Costello did. She saw our text message offering free advice and support to switch energy supplier and saved a massive £280 a year on her energy bill.

Mrs Costello’s housing officer, Mo, sat down and went through the whole energy switch process step-by-step with her.

We asked Joyce what she thought about the process, she said, “Mo was brilliant! I wouldn’t have been able to do it myself – I wouldn’t have know where to start. If I hadn’t changed I’d have continued to pay too much for my bills. I’m using the £280 to save for a rainy day!”

Knowing how short-lived Summer can be in Britain, and how many rainy days there are to come £280 could be quite useful. So if you live in the Eastwood, Holmes, Kimberworth or Masborough areas of Rotherham it couldn’t be easier get in touch with us and start saving money.

Simply give us a call on 0114 2900 200 and talk to one of our expert advisors. You might also have received a text message from South Yorkshire Housing Association recently advertising the our energy switch advice service. If you’ve still got the text simply reply with “YES” and one of our team will contact you.
