Volunteering

At South Yorkshire Housing Association we’re passionate about volunteering. It doesn’t matter whether you can spare a day, a week or an hour a month – you can make a huge difference to someone’s life.

There are are so many benefits to volunteering. If you’re looking for work, volunteering looks great on a CV and research has proven that you’re more likely to get a job if you’ve volunteered in the past. We also welcome students who are seeking out placement opportunities for areas such as Health and Social Care, Housing, Social Services and more.

Volunteering can also have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing by getting you out and about, meeting new people and making new friends.

In 2017/18, we set a goal of reaching 10,000 hours of volunteering and our amazing volunteers smashed it, giving 11, 171 hours of their time – and we’re aiming for even more in 2018/19.

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities, so whatever your skills or interest, we’ve got a role for you.

If you’d like to find out more about our volunteering opportunities why not give us a call on 0114 2900 200 or email volunteering@syha.co.uk.
