What does home mean to you?

Building new homes is arguably the most important thing that we do. But we want to make sure that the type of houses that we build aren’t just four walls and a roof, but a place our customers are proud to call home.

The only way we can do this is to work with our customers and find out what home means to them, and what their ideal home would look like. This way we can use our customers’ feedback to ensure that when we design homes in the future they are built with our customers’ needs in mind.

What’s important about home to you?

What does home mean to you?So we’re asking you, what do you value in a home? It could be that you’d like a big garden for children to play in, large windows to make sure the house is bright, or it could be about the location of the house – whatever matters most to you, we want to know.

All your answers will be anonymous and help us shape our house building for years to come. Please take a few minutes to answer the questions below – go into as much detail as you’d like:

  1. What matters to you about the houses that SYHA builds?
  2. How would you describe a successful street scene, in which a home might sit?
  3. How would you describe the character of the interior of home?
  4. What are the most important things for us to consider including in our future designs?
