If there’s one thing we’ve learned about working with our customers, it’s that there’s no one-size fits all approach for everyone.
Everyone has different needs, and some people are living with more than one just one issue. They might be struggling with their mental health or have problems with substance misuse. Sometimes a combination of these problems can even lead to homelessness.
We provide services across South Yorkshire that specialise in providing the holistic support our customers needs to meet their complex needs. Below are just some of our projects which work with the most vulnerable members of society.
Nine One One
Nine One One is one of our housing developments in the Broomhall area of Sheffield. They specialise in providing supported accommodation to people with a range of complex needs, primarily focusing on substance misuse and alcohol dependency issues. Such complex needs often result in secondary issues, such as mental health issues, anti-social behaviour and offending.
The aim of the project is to prevent homelessness and give customers a safe place to live and recover.
At Nine One One we give everyone a chance. We’re committed to working with our customers to develop the skills they need to live independently and make positive changes that enable them to reach their potential. This could be anything from management of addiction problems through to cooking skills and confidence building.
We’ve developed a real reputation for our success in Sheffield, and one of our proudest achievements was winning the National Housing Federation’s ‘What We Are Proud of Award’ in 2010.
To find out more about Nine One One why not take a look at our handy fact sheet. If you’d like to speak to someone from the project, or make a referral give one of the team a call on 0114 275 1644.
Sheffield Thursday Project
Since 1991, the Sheffield Thursday Project has been supporting people with differing needs in their own homes. It was the first service of its type in the country, and we now work with a range of housing providers in the city.
We manage properties on behalf of more than 100 customers – with the ultimate aim of helping our customers gain enough confidence to live independently, maintain their own tenancy and finally – become the housing provider’s tenant.
If you’d like more about the Sheffield Thursday Project, our fact sheet should give you all the details your need. You can also give us a ring on 0114 2900 250 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
By the way, if you’re wondering why it’s called the Thursday Project back in 1991 when we were really struggling with what to call the service, nothing quite seemed to fit. We then looked across at the calendar and you guessed it, it was a Thursday! The name stuck from there and we’ve even got similar projects in Rotherham and Barnsley.
