We’re delighted to have handed our customers the keys to our five brand-new, eco-conscious homes in Waverley, just outside Rotherham.
The three-bedroom homes, which we purchased from Sky House, are on a 740-hectare site, which was home to the former Orgreave Colliery and Coking Plant. It is now the largest brownfield mixed-use development in South Yorkshire.
Our five EPC band B rated homes are fully electric and have an air source heat pump, solar panels and electrical vehicle charging.
But it isn’t only the environmental credentials of the homes which make them such a fantastic addition to our housing stock. The newly created neighbourhood, which is just two minutes from the M1 motorway, offers everything our customers need on their doorstep.
As well as a primary school, a newly opened high street called Olive Lane has shops and a medical centre, there are several pocket parks and other green spaces. Two lakes and more than 300 acres of parkland, with carefully planted shrubs and trees, will attract wildlife and boost mental and physical wellbeing.
On key handover day, we had the pleasure of meeting some of our customers:
