Places for People partnership
In December 2025, South Yorkshire Housing Association joined Places for People (PfP) as a subsidiary.
At the time, we explained that the plan was to complete a Transfer of Engagements in the future. A Transfer of Engagements is when one organisation joins another, and they become a single legal entity. In this case, we will become a single organisation called PfP.
In November 2026, we contacted our customers to ask for their views on the proposed Transfer of Engagements between SYHA and Places for People Living+ Limited, another landlord within the PfP Group.
Partnership and communication timeline
2026
- November 2026: We contacted customers to invite them to take part in a consultation about the proposed Transfer of Engagements with Places for People.
- 13 December 2026: Second customer consultation will close.
2025
- March 2025: We announced that we’d started partnership talks with Places for People on our website.
- July 2025: We sent a letter to customers to invite them to take part in a consultation about the partnership. We also answered some Frequently Asked Questions.
- 10 September 2025: First customer consultation closes.
- Autumn 2025: SYHA and PfP Boards make a decision on whether to approve SYHA joining Places for People as a subsidiary. Both Boards approved the decision.
- 1 December 2025: SYHA joins Places for People as a subsidiary.
- December 2025: We sent a letter or email to all our customers with confirmation that we have joined PfP and more information about the partnership.
