Every SYHA home will be EPC Band C by 2030. Over the next five years, we’re completing energy efficiency improvements in homes that fall below this standard.
This topic has been chosen by our Customer Scrutiny Panel for their current exercise. They are exploring how we can improve the experience for customers who are receiving energy efficiency upgrades. These upgrades will improve the EPC rating of our customers’ homes, making them more warm, comfortable, and cheaper to heat.
The panel want to hear from SYHA customers about what they know about energy efficiency upgrades, and any concerns or barriers that might prevent them from agreeing to the work. Their short online survey takes just 5 minutes to complete, and is open now!
The survey closes on 5th November. If you’d like the survey in another language or format, or have any questions about it, please get in touch on 0800 1380 380 or email enquiries@syha.co.uk
Our partners Viewpoint will also be contacting customers to invite them to take part.
These improvements aren’t just about hitting a target, as our Sustainability Programme Lead, Anokhee Parikh, explains: “We know that homes with lower EPC ratings are harder to heat, more expensive for customers, and can be more prone to damp, mould and condensation.”
Anonymised feedback from these surveys will form part of the Customer Scrutiny Panel’s report, which will include recommendations for how we deliver our energy efficiency improvements programme so it is the best experience it can be for our eligible customers. The report may be shared within SYHA, on our website, social media, and with external partners.
In this year’s Annual Review, one of our Involved Customers asked how we’re improving the energy efficiency of our customers’ homes. Here’s Anokhee’s answer:
