We want to work alongside you, our customers, to hear your thoughts on what more we can do to tackle the climate emergency.

The Government has committed to the UK reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. This is important to us all at South Yorkshire Housing Association – we know that we can make changes that can help to achieve this target, which is why it’s a big part of our latest strategy. We also want all of our people, and future generations, to be able to settle in homes that are safe, affordable and sustainable.

We’d like our customers to be at the heart of our journey to net zero carbon. So, we’re inviting you to be part of a great opportunity with TPAS and PlaceShapers to share your thoughts and help shape social housing and our response to the Climate Emergency.

How to get involved

TPAS and PlaceShapers are hosting three roundtable discussions with tenants in late February to gain their insights and opinions on the journey to net zero carbon social housing.

Each roundtable will be held on Zoom, for 90 minutes and tenants will have the chance to share their views and insights. Each session will feature a brief introduction, followed by small group discussions.

The session dates are:

  • Monday 22 February at 10am
  • Wednesday 24 February at 5pm
  • Thursday 25 February at 2pm

If you’re interested or know of any customers who would like to get involved, please email Helen Phoenix at H.Phoenix@syha.co.uk.  We can support people by providing digital devices or getting people up and running on Zoom.

If you’d like to get involved but can’t make those dates, please still get in touch – there will be lots more opportunities.
