It was my first experience in an office-based workplace. I was really nervous and shy for my first few months, but after getting to know everyone I came out of my shell. The people here are so nice and made me feel welcome. My apprenticeship helped me gain experience, develop my skills and has taught me a lot.
I am much more confident in my role now and I really like to challenge myself. My apprenticeship helped me progress in the business and I now have a full-time permanent position in the Workspaces team.
I had a lot of support during my apprenticeship. I had monthly meetings with both my line manager and college assessor for setting myself goals and objectives and reviewing them. I also had fortnightly catch ups with my college assessor who was helpful making sure I knew what I was doing on my coursework.
After doing my Level 2, I went onto a Level 3 programme. This was a new ‘Standard Apprenticeship’, which meant I had to complete an exam, have an interview and give a presentation about what I have been working on. My line manager was so supportive making sure I had gone over what was needed and making sure I was fully prepared.
I am now a Facilities Co-ordinator in the Workspaces team, it offers many opportunities for me and I am really looking forward to seeing what my future has to offer.
