We are committed to making sure your home is safe, healthy, and free from hazards like damp and mould.

That’s why we fully support Awaab’s Law, which has just come into effect. This important law has been introduced following the tragic death of two-year-old Awaab Ishak, which was caused by prolonged exposure to mould in his home. We welcome the additional regulation for the housing sector to ensure we are all providing people with safe homes to live in.

Awaab’s Law includes clear requirements for how social housing landlords should respond to reports of hazards. Hazards include damp, mould and condensation, and other significant or emergency repairs. Here’s more information about the regulations, including timescales and actions we will take.

What this means for you

Over the last few years, we have been making improvements to ensure we are providing a high-quality and responsive repairs service.

We can confirm that our processes are already in line with the Awaab’s Law legislation, so there will be no changes to the services you receive. We take reports of damp, mould and condensation very seriously, and want to work with you to resolve any issues as soon as possible.
