Well Rotherham supported community led projects which inspired people to get out and active in nature.

Here are some of the projects we worked on…

  • We worked in partnership with the Rother Valley Riders and Harworth group to part fund and win match funding for a new Learn to Ride area and pump track in Waverley Park, which should start construction towards the end of 2021.
  • Part-funding upgrades to the downhill mountain bike tracks at the Rother Valley Country Park and facilitating the design of a riding ‘master plan’ for the Rother Valley.
  • Working in partnership with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to create the Rother Valley Way, a fully signed and accessible route from Waverley through the Rother Valley.
  • Creating a Waverley Lakes wildlife trail map. Initially an idea which came out of the Great Ideas Grant, the map was co-produced over a series of community walks.
  • Working in partnership with the Wildlife Trust to repair Woodhouse Washlands pond dipping platform and deliver a series of community events.
