Grow Maltby

Abbey Reach (White City) is a former mine workers’ estate in Maltby with a massive community spirit.

Grow Maltby, our Moments of Joy project here, has a focus on gardening and digital inclusion, working in partnership with Rotherham Borough Council and utilising the skills of artists Charlotte Armitage and Wayne Sables, known as Bowler Hat Creatives, to motivate and enable residents to get out and get gardening whilst also helping people to feel more confident about using digital technologies.

Over the last few months, Bowler Hat Creatives have been working alongside our customers in Maltby to plan and deliver sessions to help build gardening skills and increase community cohesion.

We’ve hosted lots of events and taken some fabulous photos. Take a look at some of our favourite below.

The future of the project will be continued through the Let’s Grow Maltby Facebook group where you can share tips, recipes and anything gardening related. We’re looking forward to seeing some delicious fruit pies in the future!
