The Meadows, one of our extra-care homes for older people in Sheffield, is celebrating two decades of providing community, friendship and a safe place to call home.
Customers, colleagues and loved ones came together for a day of celebrations filled with special moments, from choosing items to be included in a time capsule to customer, David, planting a beautiful cherry tree to mark the occasion. The celebrations continued with a delicious buffet, plenty of conversation and an afternoon singalong that brought everyone together.
Chris Dearnley, Project Lead at The Meadows, said during the tree-planting ceremony:
“The real heart of The Meadows has always been the people who live here. Over the past 20 years, we’ve been home to 143 residents. Each person has been part of the story, bringing their own experiences, personalities, and contributions to this community.”
A customer summarised their experience of living at The Meadows:
“We’re safe, we have a community, we’re comfortable, we’re well looked after.”
