We’re working with local people and organisations in Rotherham to find out what they love about the area, and their ideas for change.

We’ve safely started conversations about the area with local communities, and we’re excited to continue working together and reach more people!

Here’s an update on what we’ve done so far, and you can stay up to date here.

On 8th December 2020, we first met with some of our customers in Canklow.

It was a big success, and we chatted about green ideas, and about what people love about living in Canklow. We used video calling (on Zoom), and some customers phoned in too – so even if you don’t have a good internet connection or a smart phone you can still get involved.

This month, we met up with local people and organisations to discuss how to connect with the wider community in Canklow.

We are committed to listening to the community in Canklow, and agreeing what action we can take. This will include both community engagement activity, and physical improvements to communal green spaces. We accept that we can’t deliver every great idea at once, but our communities will decide where they want to start. As a result of community feedback in Canklow, earth-mounds have been put up on Warden Street to stop vehicle access for fly-tipping, and our NEAT team tidied up leaves and litter from around Castle View.
